With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dimitra Gardikas (Winthrop, Massachusetts), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As Dimitra departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Dimitra may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Dimitra leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Tassos Gardikas; and her brother George Agrios of Florida. She is survived by: her friend Winthrop; her children, Francine Gardikas (Patrick Sheehan) of Swampscott and Michael Gardikas of Taunton; her grandsons, Andrew Sheehan, Teddy Sheehan and Tassos Sheehan; and her sister Evangelia Voura of Greece. She is also survived by her many in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son Funeral Home (147 Winthrop St, Winthrop, MA 02152). A reception was held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (514 Parker St, Boston, MA 02120).
