Kathleen Hanson Obituary
Kathleen F. Hanson was born in Winthrop to the late Catherine E. (Forrest) and Edward J. McKenna. She grew up in East Boston before making her home in Winthrop more than 40 years ago.
Before retiring, Kathleen worked for John Hancock Insurance. She enjoyed reading, boating with her husband, and spending time with family and friends on her front porch. She also treasured lunches with her grammar school friends.
Known for her easygoing nature, Kathleen was loved by all who knew her. Above all, she cherished her children and grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
She was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Hanson, Sr. and the loving mother of Lynne Peppe and her husband David and Robert J. Hanson, Jr. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas D. Peppe, Justin E. Peppe and Jolee Y. Hanson. Dear sister of Maureen Keeler and her late husband Robert, Joan Giambrone, and the late Edward J. McKenna, Jr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
