With sadness, we share the passing of Joan M. (McAllister) McCarthy of Woburn, Massachusetts. Joan passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John McAllister and Helen McAllister. She is survived by: her husband Joe; her sons, Jeff McCarthy (Jessica Galante), Jay McCarthy (Beth) and Scott McCarthy (Laurie); and her siblings, Valerie Kappel (late Gary), Joyce Ryan (Larry), Terry Cochran (Dave) and David McAllister (Kevin Kelley). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home (263 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Church (280 Main St, Woburn, MA 01801).
Calling hours will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, September 17th, from 4–8 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Joan's memory to the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, 1 Charles Gardner Lane, Woburn, MA 01801.
