He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda M. Abreu (Pereira); his parents, Victor Abreu and Mary Abreu (Rodrigues); his granddaughter Kristen Abreu; and his brother Victor Abreu.
He is survived by: his children, John J. Abreu, Jr. (Mimma) of Woburn, Paul D. Abreu (Jean Conley) of Woburn and Joanne Marie Doherty (Bob) of Woburn; his grandchildren, Paul Abreu Jr., Alyson Abreu (Matt Born), John J. Abreu III (Darnyel), Justin Abreu, Jeffrey Doherty, Christopher Doherty and Shannon Doherty; and his great grandchildren, Laila, Waylon, Rose, Isabella, Briella and Delilah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
