He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Barbara A. Hayes (Narkiewich); his children, Barbara Pappas (Nick) of Wilmington and Andrew Hayes; his grandchildren, Niko and Max Pappas of Wilmington; his parents, Margaret Hayes and Coughlan; his siblings, Robert Hayes (Patricia) and Susanna Clancy of Pelham, NH; and his extended family, Clara, Ray Watson and Edward Henry. He was also cherished by her children, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to The Home for Little Wanders 10 Guest St., Boston, MA 02135.
