He is survived by: his wife Rosa Melendez (Valentine); his children, Debra Landry (late Denis Landry), Wendy Pratte (late Donald Pratte), Sandra Melendez, Peter Vasquez (Margie), Benito Melendez, Jr., John Melendez (Jenny) and Yolanda Coffey (Jeremiah); and his sisters, Maria Dolores Melendez and Antonia Felix. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
