He was predeceased by: his daughter Nereida E. Melendez; his grandson Edward Melendez; and his parents, Dolores Melendez and Paula Melendez (Berios). He is survived by: his wife Rosa Melendez (Valentine); his children, Debra Landry (late Denis Landry), Wendy Pratte (late Donald Pratte), Sandra Melendez, Peter Vasquez (Margie), Benito Melendez, Jr., John Melendez (Jenny) and Yolanda Coffey (Jeremiah); and his sisters, Maria Dolores Melendez and Antonia Felix. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Joan of Arc Church (570 Lincoln St, Worcester, MA 01605).
