Diane DeGon wrote a sympathy message

“Jennifer and children. John and I are so sorry for your loss. Your husband and Dad was like a son to us in his early teens. He was at our house after school hanging around with our oldest son John. He always had a smile and a kind word. John and I have a lot of fond memories of your husband and Dad. He will be missed. Take care of yourselves and remember all the happy times. John and Diane DeGon”
