She was predeceased by: her husband Richard; and her sister Norma Roberts (Frost). She is survived by: her children, Sheila M. Loughnane (Bernard), Richard T. Hakenson, Jr. (Tricia), Amanda Calderón (Victor), Michael Hakenson, Gay Gardner, Chrys Hakenson (Joanne) and Robin Hakenson; her close friend Douglas Shogren (Erik Hakenson) of Spencer; and her grandchildren, Alexander, Grant Lucas, Richard, Donald Hakenson, Chrislyn Hakenson, Jessica Holmes, Alicia, Ana, Alex Calderón, Aaron, Andrew Hakenson, Seth Hollyer, Cassandra Bittner, Dana Mangsen, Matthew and Allyson Shogren. She is also survived by nieces, cousins, and friends.
