He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Githmark and Eleanor Githmark (Christie); his stepmother Caroline; his sister Susan Rich; and his brother-in-law Hal.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Githmark (McDougall); his sons, Erik Githmark (Sonja) of Rutland, MA and Andrew Githmark (Robin) of Pembroke, NH; his siblings, Paul Githmark (Trish) of Cheshire, CT, Bob Schmidt (Bernie) of Montvale, NJ, Bill Schmidt (Dina) of Bolton Landing, NY, Chris Githmark (Amy) of Wesley Chapel, NC, Karyn McGowin (Bruce) of Southampton, NY and Janet Pryzgoda (John) of East Greenwich, RI; and his grandchildren, Lars, Leif, Kari, Gunnar and Madison. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Missions, established to build churches, hospitals, and schools in rural Haiti.
