He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Gaughan and Rita Gaughan (O'Connell); and his siblings, Bernard Gaughan, Charles Gaughan and Mary Pat Spear.
He is survived by: his wife Jo-Ann Gaughan (McGrail); his children, Lynann (Peter Van Dyke) of Holden, MA and David (Carolyn Cichon) of Natick, MA.; his grandchildren, Liaidan Van Dyke, Rose Gaughan and Mae Gaughan; his sister Katherine Morin; and his siblings-in-law, Anne Gaughan, Robert Spear, Jack McGrail (Terry McGrail) and Mary Ellen Moore (Michael Moore). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
