She was predeceased by: her husband John F. Steele, Sr.; her sisters, Mildred Brown, Gladys Henry, Doris Benoit and Pauline Rana; and her parents, Sigmond Kaliszewski and Minnie Kaliszewski (Plasse).
She is survived by: her children, Ann Marie Foley (Richard) of Auburn, Karen Kontulis (late George Kontulis) of Worcester, John F. Steele, Jr. of Worcester and Mark Steele (Daryl) of Oxford; her granddaughters, Nicole of Worcester, Caitlin Kontulis of Worcester and Megan Foley of Auburn; and her great grandchild Tyler Kontulis of Worcester. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
After retirement, Evelyn volunteered at Saint Vincent Hospital, working in the Gastroenterology outpatient clinic until the COVID pandemic halted volunteer services.
