He is survived by: his mother Susan Gikunda; his siblings, Kinya Kamau and Joseph Gikunda; his siblings-in-law, Roselyne Muriithi and Alexander Kamau; and his nephews, Lucas, Jeremy, Austin, Adrian and Brandon.

He was one of the smartest people I ever knew and I loved talking to him about everything (except politics). He had such a wonderful, witty, dry sense of humor (he used to call me “twiga” for giraffe bc he said I saw things coming from far away). He always asked after my mother and nieces and would bring them gifts from Kenya. I can’t believe he is gone. I love you Franklin my buddy. RIP.”
