She was predeceased by: her husband Christos Mitsopoulos; her parents, Polyxeni Papaioannou (Ziakou) and Stefanos Papaioannou; and her siblings, Vasiliki Papaioannou and Sotirios Papaioannou.
She is survived by: her children, Dimitri James of Worcester and Ioanna Mantalvanos (Vasilios) of Worcester; her siblings, Panayiotis Papaioannou (Katerina) of Athens, Marianthi Sirmakesis of Ioannina, Evangelia Bairaktaris of Athens and Ioulia Bozikis of Ioannina, Greece; her grandchildren, Vasiliki Kourmouzi of Worcester, Kleio Kourmouzi Tzeremes (Ioannis) of Auburn, Joanna James Moschos (Charles) of Ridgefield, CT and Christos James (Ashlee) of Worcester; and her great grandchildren, Elena, Maria, Mariella, Zoe, Ava, Sotiria and Alexandros. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Although Golfo loved flowers, the family asks that donations are made in her name to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
