We announce the death of Harriett Ruth (Horowitz) Katz of Worcester, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Horowitz and Clarice Horowitz; and her husband Mel Katz. She is survived by: her children, Marla O'Connor (Sean) of Holden and Aaron Zev Katz (Sarah Blacker) of Salem; her grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin and Jillian O'Connor; her brother Harvey Horowitz of San Diego; her nieces, Lisa Cohen and Debbie Stein; and her friend Diane Nelson.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the B'Nai Brith Cemetery (55 St Johns Rd, Worcester, MA 01603). A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Temple Emanuel Sinai (661 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609).
