John leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. John’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew John will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: wife: Nancy; mother of his children: Kathy Murphy Barrett; children: Megan Barrett (Joe), Scott Barrett, and Matt Barrett (Charlotte); grandchildren: Nathan and Mia; sisters: Dorothy DiGeronimo, Judith Brosnihan (Paul), Julianne Genatossio, Maureen Bane (Michael), Deborah Boland (Jack), and Beth Boyle (Kevin); brothers: Robert Barrett (Donna), Thomas Barrett (Renee), David Barrett, and James Barrett; uncle: Richard J Malley; deceased relatives (mother: Marguerite (Malley) Barrett; brother: Richard Barrett; brothers-in-law: Michael DiGeronimo and Samuel Sbrogna); and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home (592 Park Ave, Worcester, MA 01603). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Church (931 Main St, Concord, MA 01742).
