He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine McCoy (Brown); his son Derrick Leto; his grandson Donnell Richardson; his great grandchild Jermaine McCoy; his siblings, John Curtis and Theresa White-Barnes; and his parents, Johnny and Bessie McCoy (Yarbrough).
He is survived by: his children, Johnny McCoy, III (Dawn) of Oxford, Angela McCoy of Auburn and Anna Leto of Worcester; his stepdaughter Sally Swift of Worcester; his siblings, Kenneth White of Tuscaloosa, AL, Elizabeth Smith of Tuscaloosa, AL, Patricia Myers (Will) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alfreda Murphy of Boca Raton, FL and Dorothy Jones (George) of Hulls, AL; and his aunts, Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough of Colorado Springs, CO and Mary McCoy of Mansfield, OH. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Johnny has always asked that live plants be sent instead of flowers or donations may be made to the building fund at Belmont AME Zion Church, 55 Illinois Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
