The passing of Johnny McCoy Jr. of Worcester, Massachusetts leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 3, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine McCoy (Brown); his son Derrick Leto; his grandson Donnell Richardson; his great grandchild Jermaine McCoy; his siblings, John Curtis and Theresa White-Barnes; and his parents, Johnny and Bessie McCoy (Yarbrough).
He is survived by: his children, Johnny McCoy, III (Dawn) of Oxford, Angela McCoy of Auburn and Anna Leto of Worcester; his stepdaughter Sally Swift of Worcester; and his siblings, Kenneth White of Tuscaloosa, AL, Elizabeth Smith of Tuscaloosa, AL, Patricia Myers (Will) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alfreda Murphy of Boca Raton, FL and Dorothy Jones (George) of Hulls, AL. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel (370 Plantation St, Worcester, MA 01605). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Belmont AME Zion Church (55 Illinois St, Worcester, MA 01610).
Johnny has always asked that live plants be sent instead of flowers or donations may be made to the building fund at Belmont AME Zion Church, 55 Illinois Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
