He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmelo Martell and Agripina Rodriguez. He is survived by: his wife Angela L. Rodriguez; his children, Jorge Martell, Ficherad Martell, Debbie Martell, Ivelisse Martell and Arlene Martell; and his siblings, Miguel Martell, Eugenia, Edith, Sara, Blanca, Guillermina, Antonia and Maggie. He is also survived by 9 grand children and 7 great grandchildren.
He enjoyed aviation, carpentry, engineering, travelling, charity work, and helping at the local soup kitchen.
