He was predeceased by: his brother B. Ralph Shemeligian (Geraldine); his brother-in-law Raymond McDermott; his nephews, Sarkis Surabian and Michael J Kustigian; and his parents, Benjamin Shemeligian and Anna Shemeligian (Wolohojian).

He is survived by: his wife Melina K. Shemeligian (Kustigian); and his sister Ann McDermott. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
