He was predeceased by: his son Michael T. Cahill; his brothers, John, James and Joseph Cahill; and his parents, Daniel Cahill and Catherine Cahill (Roach).

He is survived by: his wife Ellen "Eileen" P. Cahill (Quinn); his son Daniel P. Cahill (Kate) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Maeve and Quinn; and his sisters, Margaret Coyne (Patrick) of Worcester and Mary McMahon of County Clare. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
