He was predeceased by: his parents, Jules F. Fortin and R. Blanche Fortin (Reed); and his brothers, Rev. Robert J and Ronald B. Fortin. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine M. Fortin (Sawyer); his children, David R. Fortin (Linda) of Bellvue, CO, Michele T. Aubin (Gerard) of Worcester and Marc S. Fortin of Worcester; his grandchildren, Austin R. Fortin, Dalton J. Fortin and Amy K. Nix (Fortin); his children, Jessica L. LeVasseur (Aubin), Jordan T. Aubin and Jared M. Aubin; his great grandchild Iris Nix; and his brother Rev. Richard A. Fortin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
