He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille (Hertz); his parents, Laurie and Fannie (Ruohonen); his son Ronald Raivio Jr.; and his siblings, Richard Raivio, Wally Stevenson, Sally Desrosiers and Barbara Sweat.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Raivio of Worcester, Linda O'Connor Ramm (Stephen) of Worcester and Joseph O'Connor of Grafton; and his sister Betty Murphy of Auburn. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
