He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sklarz and Anna Sklarz (Lizewski); and his siblings, John, Joseph Jr., Walter, Anna Rauer, Irene Brunyak and Helen Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia M. Sklarz (Gagliastre); his son Michael Sklarz of Spencer; his grandchildren, Nathan Dearent (Eve), Nicholas Dearent, Nolan Dearent (Mariah), Molly Sklarz and Mitchell Sklarz; his sisters, Rosemarie Coulard of Oxford and Jean Whitaker of Arroyo Grande, CA.; his sister-in-law Maryann Hamilton (Jack); his niece Jill Lemansky (Richie); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dean and Drew; his nephew John O'Connell (Annie); and his great-nieces, Emily and Addie.
