He was predeceased by: his brothers, Vincent G. Brown, Jr. and Chester Brown; and his parents, Vincent G. and Mary A. Brown (Griffin). He is survived by: his wife Suzanne M. Brown (Frechette); and his sisters, Frances McSmith of Tennessee and Marilyn Brown of Hull. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

His leadership and work ethic were admired by all who worked alongside him, and his contributions to the industry were significant and lasting.
