She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrude Clark and James Clark, Sr.; her brothers, John Dennison (Margaret) and James "Jimmy" Clark, Jr. (Greta); and her stepson Brad Menefee.
She is survived by: her husband Mermon Howard Hicks; her son James "Googie" Clark (Jocelyn); her caregiver Camellia; her goddaughter Danielle Pearson (Leon); her son Fennell Newsome; her grandchild Shannell Newsome; and her sister Velma Walton (Kezia Coates). She is also survived by cousins; family and friends.
