It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan E. Barry of Abingdon, Maryland, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. John Barry. She is survived by: her children, Michael Barry (Dana), Nancy Barry (Michael), Laura Barry (Elliot) and Susie Barry (Marie); her grandchildren, Jenny Barry (Omar), Kristen Barry and Sean Barry Gerwig; and her brother Harold Steel (Connie).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McComas Family Funeral Home (50 W Broadway, Bel Air, MD 21014). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (303 N Main St, Bel Air, MD 21014).
