With sadness, we share the passing of William Ballwanz Jr. of Abingdon, Maryland. William, born on February 17, 1948, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember William for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. William’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences he brought to the world.
He is survived by: his wife Linda H. Ballwanz; his daughter Debra L. Henry (Charles J. Henry, Jr.); his grandsons, Charles J. Henry, III and Brett J. Henry; and his sisters, Christina Carnes and Isabel Eder (Dennis Eder). He is also survived by his nephews, cousins, and many family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air (610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Harford Memorial Gardens (3839 Aldino Rd, Aberdeen, MD 21001).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Federation of the Blind.
