He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lewis and Katherine Lewis; his daughter Philomena T. Lewis; and his wife Catherine Philomena. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth (Carlos Blandon) of Frederick, MD, W. Damian Lewis of Linthicum, MD, Gemma (Michael Reed) of Edgewood, MD and Phillip Lewis (Michelle) of Bel Air; his grandchildren, Charles N Blandon, Celeste M Beulah (Cornelius), Danielle C Lewis (Asim), Lewis I Blandon, Rachel Arnold, Karla E Simpson (Floyd), Kathryn R McPhee Christopher (Kyle), Sean M Reed Andrea (Nicole), Andrew D Lewis, Caitlyn B Reed and Ryan M Reed (Rachel); and his great grandchildren, Adrianna, Madi, Dylan, Ethan, Jayden, Cylas, Isabella, Ayden, Nevaeh, Lilliana, Collin and Noah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
