We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2023, Leona May Shoemaker of Accident, Maryland, born in Oakland, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Roy Clay and Della Lee (Deem); her husbands, Joseph R. Carr and James W. Shoemaker; her son Joseph Carr; her siblings, Boyd Lee and Hazel Weese; and her stepsons, Steve Whittington, Jeffery Shoemaker and Dennis Shoemaker.
She is survived by : her stepdaughter Sharon Leppien; her children, Verlyn "Dutch" Carr (Linda) of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas Carr, Carolyn Deniker (Roy) and Bonnie Crosson; her sisters, Edith Harvey and Betty Moon; her grandchildren, Melanie Beeler (Mark), Jesse Deniker (Kendra), Cody Deniker (Bessie), Jason McClung (Jennifer), Jeremy Carr (Maureen) and Joey Carr (Lisa); and her stepgrandchildren, Shawn Rishel (Jennie), Michelle Shoemaker and Trina Davis. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
