She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Sheppard and Annie Sheppard; her daughter Robin Savoy; and her siblings, Sarah Johnson, Mona Sheppard, Jennifer Sheppard and Fentress Sheppard.

She is survived by: her husband Godfrey "Jerry" Lawson; her children, Terrie Trombley (Daniel), Walter "Tony" Savoy, Clayton Savoy (Robin) and Angel Savoy; and her siblings, Thelma Miller (Joseph "Buck") and Eddie Sheppard. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
