It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Laverne of Annapolis, Maryland, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on July 5, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Raymond J. Murphy, Sr.; her former husband Donald Ira Schaffer; and her siblings, Raymond J. Murphy, Jr., Kay Winters and Lila Kluge.
She is survived by: her husband Lester E. Warfield, Jr.; her children, Donald Steven Schaffer of Colora, MD, Lester Eugene Warfield III of Berlin, MD, Deborah Jean Hiponia of Annapolis, MD and Kimberly Lynn Aquino of Severn, MD; her grandchildren, Nicholas, John Robert Aquino, Ashley Lauren Hayes, Lester E. Warfield IV, Meghan N. Bynum, Jenna B. Skrajewski and Courtney Knight; and her sister Lora Denise "Dootsie" Dennison of Fallston, MD.. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
