He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lawrence Ryan Sr. and Gertrude Ryan (O'Brien); and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his child Chappaqua; his wife Susan J. Ryan; his children, Kevin Ryan, Denis Ryan and Jennifer Ryan Onken; his children-in-law, Julie Goldman Ryan, Valerie Greco Ryan and Christopher Onken; his grandchildren, Shay, Finn and Ty Ryan; and his siblings, Patricia Koester, Ann Bender and Denis J. Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Rockaway Point Fire Department in honor of their colossal efforts during and after Hurricane Sandy.
