He was predeceased by: his father James B Collins; his son William "Scott" Collins; and his brothers, Martin Collins and Charles "Eddie" Collins. He is survived by: his wife Linda Collins; his daughter Darcy Collins; his stepson Carl Kirby, Jr.; his grandchildren, Heather Crawford (Patrick) and Guy Covington, Jr.; his great grandchild Kobe Denton; and his sisters, Mary Lucille Wooten of Annapolis and Barbara Ann Ellis of Ridgely.

Donations may also be made in Jimmy's honor to the National Kidney Foundation to help with access to care, treatment, and guidance to help patients cope with a kidney disease diagnosis.
