With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Alice Leatherman Moomau of Annapolis, Maryland, born in Troy, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 19, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her former husband Albert R. Leatherman II of Old Fields, WV; her siblings-in-law, Kathryn, Lewis Moomau, Nellie and George T. Leatherman II (Miriam) of Old Fields, WV.; Jackson (Santos Paiva).

She is survived by: her husband William D. Moomau of Annapolis; her sons, Albert Roy Leatherman III of São Paulo and Brazil; her siblings, Dennis L. Segur (Risë) and Barbara A. Reger (Jack); her sisters-in-law, Mollie Prominski (Bill) and Betty L. Bosley (Jim) of Old Fields, WV; her sons, Connor, Alex and Brian D. Hornbeck (Erin) of Broadlands, VA; her grandchildren, Ben, Will and Bronwyn; her child K. T. Prominski of Arlington, VA; her grandchildren, Baird and Brooks; her child Jody Morgan (Jeff) of Vail, CO; her grandchildren, Jack and Taylor; her daughter Gretchen Cremann (Stephan) of Moorefield, WV; her grandchildren, Emma and Marcus; her son Jason Riley (Mary Ann) of Ridgeley, WV; her grandchildren, Ella and Ian; her daughters, Sarah Leatherman of Old Fields, WV and Eva Hurley (Brandon) of Gray Court, SC; her grandson John David; her daughters, Julie Dygert of Hurst, TX and Holly Pape of Apopka, FL; and her grandson Jackson. She is also survived by seven nieces, two nephews, and several great-nephews and nieces.
