She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Rush and Blaine Rush; her sisters, Jean McMinn and Helen Schaub; and her great grandchild Stetson Matthews.
She is survived by: her spouse Thomas Hughes; her children, Thomas Ill, Janet Burt of Timonium, MD, Carol Matthews of Clearwater, FL and Steven of Eureka, MT; her grandchildren, Erin, Zoe, Paul, Austin, Andrew, Ryan and Benjamin; her sons-in-law, David Burt and Paul Matthews; and her great grandchildren, Greyson Matthews and Elias Stewart.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory (2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (710 Ridgely Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401).
