He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Sams; his parents, James O. Sams and Mildred F. Sams; and his brother James C. Sams. He is survived by: his sister JoAnn Dooley of Odenton, MD; his close friend Debbie Ford of Annapolis, MD; and his nephews, Doug Sams (Donna Mills) of Spokane, WA and Christal Allen of Bowie, MD.
