She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Snowden and Emma Queen Snowden; her husband Charles Makell; and her siblings, Jeanette Johnson, Margaret Snowden, Audrey Brown, Eugene "Pete" Snowden, William Snowden, Joseph Snowden and Morris Snowden, Sr..

She is survived by: her granddaughter Jessica; her children, Katherine Rice, Margaret Rice, Elizabeth Rice, William Rice and Melissa; and her close friend Peggy Crawford.

Departed this earth, to be with the Lord, on Friday, December 22, 2023, peacefully after a decade long battle with Dementia Alzheimer's.
