She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Billy" Dorsey and Violet Ewell; her husband William Howard; her siblings, Tammy Dorsey, Terri Dorsey, Thera Dorsey and Stanley Dorsey; her stepmother Alva "Tinkie" Handy; and her mother-in-law Hazel Howard.

She is survived by: her children, Rodell Surgeon, Sr. (Kim), Tremayne Howard (Shiray), Brian Howard and Jaymar Howard; her nephew Donta Surgeon; her grandchildren, Rodell Surgeon, Jr., Brianna Surgeon, Destiny Surgeon, Ryan Surgeon, Stacey Surgeon, Dani Surgeon, Dasani Howard, Tremayne Howard, Brian Howard, Jr. and Jaymar Howard, Jr.; her siblings, James A. Dorsey, Bruce Wemple, James R. Dorsey, Jr., Iris Surgeon, Velma Dorsey, Patricia Brown, Karen Dorsey and Timberly Dorsey; her uncles, Alfred Dorsey and Eddie Dorsey; her sister-in-law Margaret Howard; her nephew Michael Boston; and her friends, Diane, Billy Wright, Wayne and Tisha Lewis. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
