He was predeceased by: his parents, John Boston and Josephine Boston; his son Curtis Boston (Opie); and his siblings, Thelma Jean Alexander, Roberta Harrison, Dorothy Jones and John Wesley Boston II.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothea Boston; his sons, Timothy C and Michael Boston; his daughter-in-law Deanna Boston; his siblings, Theodore R. Boston and Henrietta Joyce; his grandchildren, Timothy Boston (BJ), Javon Boston, Michael Boston Jr., Elijah Boston and Mathais Boston; and his niece Jackie Ford. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
