With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carl Nickel (Arnold, Maryland), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carl left this world on January 8, 2026 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Carl may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carl touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nickel and Henrietta Nickel; and his wife Kristen "Kristee" Nickel. He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Horton (Ron Chance) of Arnold and Michele Truelove (Glenn Truelove) of Annapolis; and his stepchildren, Cheryl Herron of Pasadena, Tammy Danna-Carter of Calloway, MD and Peter Danna of Pasadena. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
