He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice Gotthelf; his parents, Flora Gotthelf and Meyer Gotthelf; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Rugg. He is survived by: his children, Marjorie Rugg, Michael Gotthelf (Rachel Vile) and Ruth Gotthelf (Martin Oostendorp); his sister Merle Fishman (David); and his grandchildren, Cramer Gotthelf, Jacob Gotthelf, Bella Gotthelf, Sydney Oostendorp and Madelyn Oostendorp.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sol Levinson's Chapel (8900 Reisterstown Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208). A shiva was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at the Family Residence (9015 Jones Mill Rd, Chevy Chase, MD 20815). A burial was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at the Beth Tfiloh Cemetery (5660 Windsor Mill Rd, Woodlawn, MD 21207).
