He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvert Johnson and Mary Bernardine "Bernie" Johnson; his sister Sara "Sally" J. Puwalski; and his aunt Miriam "Mimi" Senat. He is survived by: his daughters, Jill Chasson (Mike Chasson) and Amy Johnson (Rob Landolfi); and his grandchildren, Alex and Caroline Chasson.
