He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Rolka; his stepfather John Rolka; his father Carroll L. Knott, Sr.; and his sibling Rosann Marx. He is survived by: his wife Martina Knott (Clayton); his sons, Eric Knott (David) and Jamie Knott (Crista); his stepson Joshua Clayton (Samantha); his sisters, Myra "Joy" Kipikasha and Dorothea Scott (Dart); and his grandchildren, Jaeden, Brandon, Brooklyn and Charlie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
