He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Sauer, Jr. and Agnes A. Sauer; and his brother John C. Sauer. He is survived by: his children, Charles J. Sauer, IV and Michele A. Keil (Robert); his stepson Doug L. Bolner (Linda); his siblings, George J. Sauer (Patricia), Louis H. Sauer (Diane), Ann C. Brown and Phillip R. Sauer (late Debbie); and his grandchildren, Charles J. Sauer, Kayleigh A. Keil and Levi J. Sauer. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions the funeral home can only allow a limited number of people in the funeral home. Everyone entering the funeral home will be required to wear a mask.
