She was predeceased by: her husband Leroy M. "Lee" West, Sr.; her grandson William; her parents, Frederick Schwartzhaupt and Rose Schwartzhaupt; and her siblings, Emily, Kathryn, Rosalie and Edward.
She is survived by: her children, Leroy M. West, Jr. (Pat), Nancy Nickel (Michael), Deidre Meissinger (William) and Cynthia Smith (Timothy); her grandchildren, Carly, Stacey, Michael, Katlin, Tim and Joseph; her great grandchildren, Savannah, Michael "Deano", Parker, Jack, Maverick, Grayson, Max and Jason; and her siblings, Margaret, Patricia and Frederick. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. (9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens (10201 Bird River Rd, Baltimore, MD 21220).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dolores' name to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, 380 Knollwood St., Suite H #125, Winston Salem, NC 27103, (http://www.curethekids.org.), in memory of her late grandson William.
