He was predeceased by: his wife Madeline C. Thrift; and his siblings, Donald, Audrey and Cornell Thrift. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Barnes (late Duane), Mary Guraleczka (Walt) and Edward Thrift (Leslie); his grandsons, Michael Barnes (Kimberlee) and Daniel Barnes (Elaine); his great grandchildren, Lucas, Madeline, Caroline and Mina Barnes; his stepgrandchildren, Michael and Mindy Guraleczka; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Darien, Jamie, Marlee, Ariyah, Cassius, Haylee and Naylani.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. (7401 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (7910 Belair Rd, Baltimore, MD 21236).
