She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Tellington and James McNeil; her husband Samuel Charles, Jr.; her sisters, Betty Hamilton (Elce) and Shirley Scales (Wayne); and her grandson-in-law Benjamin Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Charles, Angela Lay (Raymond), Veronica Charles (Ronnie) and Samuel Charles, III (Trina); her siblings, Milton Tellington, Jr. (Denise) and Yvonne "Boogaloo" Tellington; her grandchildren, Sherrie, Donnita, Brian, Krishonia (Darryl), Shamirra, Atia, Saleah, Kai, Taryk, Ashley, Tyrone and Sami; her niece Lisa Hamilton; and her stepdaughter Lakisha Coleman. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
