He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mike Conkel, Dottie Caldwell, Anna Lou Samples, Paul Ralph Conkel and George Bill Conkel.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Conkel; his children, James Conkel, Jr. (Jan), Stephen Conkel (Kim) and Lisa Doering (Glenn, Jr.); his grandchildren, Melissa Heaps, Jennifer Doering, Glenn Doering III, Sara Canham, Holly Richardson, Laura Schmidt, Scott Schmidt, Colleen Schmidt and Gavin Korn; his great grandchildren, Chandler Heaps, John Heaps, Jr., Emma Hostetter, Lucas Canham, Ben Canham and Leo Sophocles; and his siblings, Lois Donahue and Roger Owens.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc. (7401 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236).
