He was predeceased by: his sister Betya Frenkel; and his parents, Raisa Vayner and Moshe Vayner. He is survived by: his wife Zhenya Vayner; his son Arkadiy Vayner; his granddaughter Milana Vayner (Derek Siehler); his great grandchildren, Seraphine Siehler and Elizabeth Siehler; and his sister Rosa Mirzakandova.
