He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. William Grenzer and Anna Grenzer; his aunt Dorothy Grenzer; his sister Jean D. Miller; and his brothers-in-law, Al Miller and Timothy Abbott.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne (nee Abbott); his children, Ellen Laber (Christian), Jill Crowley (Terrence), Amy Bachran (Eric), Louis Grenzer Jr. (Hope), Andrew Grenzer (Kelly) and Claire McGuinness (David); his grandchildren, Madeline, Jake, Noah, George, Emmett, Benjamin, Annabelle, William, Caroline, Kaikoura, Jackson, Micah, Miles, Tanner, Avery and Davis; his siblings, Joan Grenzer and William Grenzer (Gerry); and his sister-in-law Pamela Hartlaub. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
