We are sad to announce that on February 12, 2020, Melvin Kabik (Baltimore, Maryland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Marc Kabik; his siblings, Leonard Kabik, Florence Gordon and Theresa Dreyer; and his parents, Rachel Kabik and Herman Kabik.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Kabik; his children, Jeffrey Kabik and Terry Reamer (Andy Gorelick); his daughter-in-law Terry Burton; his grandchildren, Lisa Yacono (David), Eric Kabik, Hanan Kabik (Nicole), Matthew Reamer, Andrew Reamer (Emily), Daniel Reamer and Rachel Sugihara (Kevin); and his great grandchildren, Bella, Leila, Roxy, Sydney and Riley.

A candle has been lit

“I just found out about the passing of Mr. Kabik while writing a memoir about my sister, Maureen Walker. Mr Kabik gave me my first opportunity to buy a condo on Pinckney Road when I was single and 29. I always felt indebted to him for taking a chance on me. I am sorry I am just now learning of his passing. I would have liked to have met the family and expressed my heartfelt gratitude for Mr Kabik all these years later. I am now 66 years old and still think of your husband/father dearly.”
